Why We're Doing This

It's been long overdue for Cebu to have a furry event larger than a typical cupsleeve event and we believe now is the right time to make it happen!

Our community has grown over 100 people in the last six months, and frankly, we don't have enough space or the resources to accommodate everyone in our usual meet-up venues. Southpaw Furry Weekend is our proposed solution to this problem—a chance to create a unique event for everyone in Cebu while we continue to grow and build our community together.

Two days of activities, workshops, socializing, and entertainment—all designed with our community in mind.

What We're Building

The first Furry Convention in Cebu is a very big achievement for our community, but we want to make sure it's also a sustainable one. This Crowdfunding campaign is not just about funding an event; it's about building a foundation for future growth and creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.

We're not expecting everything to do smoothly from the start, this will be a learning experience not just for the staff but also for the local furry community as a whole. This is a big step and that means being transparent about our plans and challenges along the way.

Contingency Plans for Every Scenario

We've thought through unlikely scenarios to ensure backers are protected and the Southpaw community is taken care of, no matter what happens.

💰 Funding Scenarios

Day 1 Goal Not Reached

If we don't hit ₱107,000, we delay the event to accumulate more funds or scale back to a single essential-only day. Backers receive immediate notification, revised timeline, and can request refunds within 30 days of announcement. Refunds subject to 10% admin fee (20% for Sponsor tier+). Already-produced inclusions non-refundable; costs deducted.

Day 2 Stretch Goals Not Reached

If Day 1 funds but Day 2 stretch goals don't, we use the extra funds to enhance the Day 1 experience and reprogram select Day 2 activities into Day 1 (not guaranteed all). Your rego automatically includes the improved Day 1 event—no additional purchase needed.

Day 2 Fully Funded

If we fund all of Day 2, your original rego remains valid for both days at no extra charge. Dealers Den vendors interested in selling on Day 2 will need to pay an additional 50% vendor fee. Unused Day 2 slots will be offered to vendors on the waitlist.

Scheduling & Delays

Minor Delays (1-4 weeks)

For vendor or logistical delays, we reschedule to the nearest available date. Backers are notified at least 10 days in advance with full details. All tier rewards remain unchanged.

Major Delays (1+ months)

For significant delays (supply chain issues, venue problems), backers can opt for: (1) Refund (subject to 10% admin fee, 20% for Sponsor tier+; already-produced inclusions non-refundable with costs deducted), (2) Rollover to next year's events, or (3) Digital rewards bundle while waiting for physical items.

🛡️ External Incidents & Force Majeure

Natural Disasters / Weather

If severe weather or natural disaster makes the event impossible, we immediately reschedule to a safe date. Backers are notified within 48 hours. Full refunds available 30+ days before event; partial refunds on case-by-case basis for closer dates. Refunds subject to 10% admin fee (20% for Sponsor tier+). Already-produced inclusions non-refundable; costs deducted.

Health & Safety Emergency

If a health crisis (pandemic, outbreak) prevents gathering, we pivot to a virtual celebration event. Digital rewards, online panels, and virtual meet-ups included. Full refunds available 30+ days before event; partial refunds available on case-by-case basis. Refunds subject to 10% admin fee (20% for Sponsor tier+). Already-produced inclusions non-refundable; costs deducted.

Venue Unavailability

If our confirmed venue becomes unavailable, we secure an alternative space of equal or greater quality. Backers are notified immediately with new location details and travel info. No additional costs incurred.

Local/National Restrictions

If government restrictions prohibit gatherings, we postpone to the nearest allowable date. If impossible to hold in-person, hybrid or fully virtual alternative is offered. Full refunds available 30+ days before event; partial refunds case-by-case for closer dates. Refunds subject to 10% admin fee (20% for Sponsor tier+). Already-produced inclusions non-refundable; costs deducted.

⚙️ Operational Issues

Vendor/Sponsor Cancellation

If a major vendor or sponsor backs out, we source replacements immediately. Event scope remains unchanged. Backers are informed of any replacements in advance with no impact on their experience.

Merch Production Delays

If merchandise isn't ready by event date, physical copies ship post-event at no extra cost. Digital previews and placeholder items given at the event. Refunds available only for unacceptable quality, subject to 10% admin fee (20% for Sponsor tier+). Already-produced inclusions non-refundable; costs deducted.

Staffing Shortages

If key staff become unavailable, we recruit experienced community volunteers to maintain event quality. Schedule may shift, but all planned activities proceed. Backers notified of any schedule changes in advance.

Technical Failures

Sound/lighting system failures are addressed with backup equipment. Livestream issues are communicated immediately with recorded content shared post-event. Event quality never compromised.

Real-Time Updates: Any significant change triggers an email and Telegram notification within 24 hours. We keep you informed every step of the way.

Flexible Refund Policy: Full refunds available for requests 30+ days before the event. Partial refunds reviewed on a case-by-case basis for closer dates. All refunds subject to 10% administrative fee for tiers below Sponsor, 20% for Sponsor and above. Already-produced inclusions cannot be refunded and costs will be deducted from refund. For rego transfers, personalized items cannot be changed or remade.
